How Long Does the Pre-Settlement Funding Process Take From Application to Cash?

From application submission to cash in hand, most straightforward cases take 24 to 72 hours. The limiting factor is almost always attorney cooperation, not the funder's internal processing.

The end-to-end process — from your initial application to cash in your hands — takes 24 to 72 hours for most straightforward personal injury cases. The process has three stages: application (typically 15 to 30 minutes of your time), underwriting review (24 to 48 hours, primarily awaiting attorney response), and funding disbursement (same day to next day after approval, by check or wire transfer).

The application itself is minimal. You provide your name, contact information, attorney's name and contact information, basic case information (case type, jurisdiction, approximate incident date), and the amount you are requesting. No financial documents, no tax returns, no bank statements. Many applications are submitted entirely by phone.

After your application is received, the funder contacts your attorney to request case documentation and the attorney's assessment. This is the variable-length step. If your attorney is immediately available and responsive, the review can be completed in hours. If the attorney is unavailable or needs time to gather documentation, it takes longer.

Once approved, funds are typically disbursed same day or next business day. Most funders offer ACH transfer to your bank account (one to two business days to arrive) or overnight check. Wire transfers are available for larger advances but may carry a nominal fee.
